Sweet Alchemy is an online slot developed by Play’n GO. The game, which uses a 5×5 layout, is around sweets and candy. The reels are set against a pink cloud beside a friendly witch mixing a pink cauldron.

Unlike most modern-day slots, however, Sweet Alchemy does not have any paylines, so how does the slot work? Continue reading our Sweet Alchemy review to find out!
How To Play
Before you can start playing the sweet slot, you’ll need to register and deposit at an online casino offering the game. Once that’s been done, you can either hit the green spin button to start the game or you can adjust your wager by selecting from the predetermined amounts at the bottom of the screen.
In addition, you can enable the autoplay feature to select the number of times you want the reels to automatically spin, allowing you to sit back and enjoy the game.
Sweet Alchemy has three Wild symbols. The circular Wild symbol substitutes for other symbols to help you make winning combinations. The Striped Wild also substitutes for all symbols but when it’s part of a winning combination, it will remove all the symbols in an entire row or column.
Lastly, the Dotted Wild substitutes for all symbols and removes all instances of a randomly selected symbol when part of a winning combination.
Sugar Rush Feature
Every time you land a winning combination (A group of four or more matching symbols), the number of symbols that form the combination will be added to the Sugar Rush Meter at the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
As you fill the Sugar Rush Meter, you will be awarded various Wild symbols to help you make more combinations. However, it’s important to note that the Sugar Rush Meter will reset to zero with each new spin.
Mix The Elixir Bonus
If you collect 38 winning symbols within one spin, you’ll completely fill the Super Rush Meter and trigger the Mix The Elixir bonus round which features three Candy Spells. This bonus round is played on a 9×9 grid where you’re tasked with collecting the required symbols by forming clusters.
During the feature, the witch will cast a Candy Spell on non-winning spins, helping you to make more winning combinations. There are a total of three spells available once you trigger the feature, but you can collect an additional spell for every three winning combinations you make. You can collect a total of seven Candy Spells in the feature.
The Candy Spells include:
- Sweet Surprise: Wild symbols replace randomly selected symbols
- Sugar Bombs: Explodes randomly selected symbols
- Mixed Candy: Shuffles all symbols to create winning combinations
The feature consists of three levels and you can work your way through them by collecting the required symbols. You trigger the first level of the Mix The Elixir bonus by triggering the Elixir Of Power feature where you’re tasked with selecting chocolate tiles and matching three together to reveal magic elixirs, each offering a different multiplier. The second and third levels of the Elixir Of Power feature increase your rewards, allowing you to win up to ten times your total wager.
Whenever you complete the Elixir Of Power bonus, you’ll progress one position on a map which contains treasure chest, equivalent to 15% of your winnings from the base game.
Sweet Alchemy is an incredibly unique slot. While it borrows a lot from Candy Crush, the game is packed with special features to make it more exciting and fun, though it may seem overwhelming for a first-timer. Due to this, we suggest only experienced players try the game as it’s rules and countless features can be somewhat complicated.
