Microgaming Announces Plans to Create Third Lara Croft Slot

Tomb Raider

Microgaming has announced plans to create a new Lara Croft online slot in celebration of their fifthteenth year of partnering with Square Enix.

The partnership between Square Enix and the leading software developer is approaching its 15th year anniversary. To mark this important day, the two companies renewed their agreement and confirmed that they would be releasing a third Lara Croft slot.

Microgaming launched the first Tomb Raider slot in 2004, marking the first ever branded slot partnership in the online gambling industry. In 2008, the gaming giant released Tomb Raider: Secret of the Sword. The licensed slot quickly rose to popularity thanks to its excellent bonus features.

Rumours suggest that the new Lara Croft slot will be based on the 2018 Tomb Raider film starring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. Microgaming will reveal more details of the game at ICE Totally Gaming 2019.

Janet Swallow, Vice-President of Licensing of Square Enix West, commented: “We look forward to continue working with Microgaming to develop another successful branded online slot game,”

“We are excited to see a new action-packed Lara Croft adventure launch to the iGaming world and look forward to the big reveal at ICE 2019.”

Licensed Slots by Microgaming

Microgaming is rather experienced when it comes to licensed branded slots. The games developer has created an impressive number of slot games based on movies and TV series throughout the years. Examples include Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, developed based on the popular films of the same titles. You must also have heard of Hellboy and Terminator 2. Aside from the familiar characters loved by everyone, these branded slots all offer interesting features and bonuses to entice players.
